Default RE SYE help

Doing the RE SYE on my np231 (early style) and the flange doesn't seem to wanna fit on the output shaft. I know i have the wright SYE (27 spline). i tried to force it on a little bit and the splines of the flange didnt like it to much. What would be a good next move? maybe cleaning up just the ends of the splines with a dremel?

Use a file and emery cloth, by hand. No power tools on machined parts. Lots of patience and time. Push the flange onto the shaft and rock it around. It will rock on two points, one of the two will be the high spot. Clean the high spot up with a file and emery cloth. Repeat. If it needs much more than that, I would contact the manufacturer.
