Looking good! I started with the re3.5 superflex on my 2001xj. For the sway bar mount bolts I just cut them off flush and did a little drilling. Use lots of drilling oil and take your time, the key to drilling holes is to start out with a smaller bit and work your way up in size. Also don't let the metal start to smoke, that's horrible for your drills. Funny part is that all that work and I don't even use a sway bar at all now, I have pulled mine off.

 

Later down the line I may get quick disconnects for it, but for now, I'll leave it all alone. I'm taking a break from any more extensive vehicle projects. Time to kick back and enjoy the fruits of labor.

 

This came off when I was working on the shocks and I'm not sure what it is. It was in the bumper, and I rerouted it under the hood [out of the way] because the new one won't accommodate it. I had assumed it had something to do with collision detection, but I figured I'd ask the experts.

Thats the vacuum ball thing-a-mado(vacuum canister). Without it your cruise control, defrosters, etc will not work.

 

Would it then be a bad thing that cruise control still works?

Yes, I used some ever-handy zip-ties to tie it off near the coolant tank. But when I had to move it out of the way to tighten the front shocks down, the wire snapped off. My cruise control seems to be working and my defroster seems fine; if that is indeed its purpose, I am confused as to why they still work.

 

That is quite odd.
