Just installed a RC 6.5" LA lift on my 98 XJ. Followed the instructions for building the bushings for the lower and upper arms. Got the ring as tight as I could without godzilla'ing it on per the instructions.
My concern is that I didn't crank hard enough on the ring and the bushings are too loose and will cause premature wear. While parked, my lower arms are fully cocked to one side; is this normal? Should it be level? FWIW, this is the first LA XJ I have driven, but the front feels VERY squishy, not sure if normal either.
Loosen the nut.
Straighten the johnny-joint.
Measure the gap between the joint and the side of the mount.
Let's assume it's 3/8 as mine was.
Use a piece of 3/8 aluminum or copper to shim the gap.
Tighten nut.
Remove shim.
Your JJ will be perfectly straight.
