I just replaced the heim in my track bar (Rubicon express) with a johnny joint, made the jeep drive a lot better. Heims are just not made to handle dirt, you can get boots for them but you still have a harsh joint.

Yes, if you found what I need, that would be most appreciated and you'd be my hero.

Sorry it took me so long to reply, but I think I have found what ya need. All you need to do before ordering is measue your heim and make sure it is 2" wide. I couldnt find the specs on the bar you have to be for certain that the width is the same but I'm sure the threaded part is correct. Hope this helps

Thanks man! Kind of funny timing... I found the same joint on 4 Wheel Parts website and was just about to measure the depth. http://www.4wheelparts.com/Fabricati...n=CURCE-9112SP

So, the only problem I foresee is that the depth of the trac-bar axle mount is less than 2", so I'd have to find a thinner johnny joint.

I found a JJ that is close to correct, but the thru-bolt hole is 5/8" and I need it to be 7/16". I measured the depth of the trac-bar axle mount and it measured just shy of 1-5/8". Here is the one I'm looking at: http://www.currieenterprises.com/ces...t.aspx?id=3579

I emailed Currie to see if they could build me this part, but with the 7/16" thru-bolt hole. If they can't, I will probably have to drill out my trac-bar axle mount to 5/8" and buy the appropriate grade 8 bolt.

To recap, I need:
  • Greasable, Narrow 2" forged Johnny Joint
  • Male rod end, 2 1/4" of 3/4"-16 right hand threads
  • 1.600" mounting width
  • 7/16" thru-bolt hole

Nothing wrong with heims. IMHO, the RE1600 is a good trackbar, but the heim in single shear is not good. I had the RE1600 (their standard, non-HD, trackbar with a modified stock frame-side mount to run in double shear. ZERO issues. I live near the Oceano Dunes in California (only beach legal for the public to wheel in CA) been offroading all my lift. My heep has been my DD for 4 years Heim was great. Even sold the TB to someone back east. No issues.
I have Ruffstuff 1.25" heims on the frame side of my mid-arm kit, no issues/noises.

Why not just drill out the hole and be done with it?
But in all reality the RC trackbar is crap. So, good luck on making it "better"
