Raised Shock mount position
On the rear axle the shock mounting position sticks down below the axle. The other day I rasied my mounts up for more ground clearance. We took some Grade 8 bolts and used a lath to cut down the hex head. Then we welded washers in place to hold the shock bushing in place. After that we welded the bolt to the old mount. I still have to cut the bottom off and will have the finished pictures.

Just a question-
How come you didnt keep your stock studs and bolts? And i cant wait to see the results.
My guess is better rock clearance, and make your shocks "longer"

I plan to do this for clearance reasons... a by product of this is I can still run my shocks that maxed out at 3.5-4" lift

Yes kinda make shocks longer. We did the bolts b/c it was easy and more time friendly for now. I now have the old shock pieces cut off so I plan to weld them back to the axle and take off these bolts.
