Default quick disconnect question

Hello all!
Why are there 2 types of sway bar quick disconnects?
There are straight and offset.
I purchased some and they are straight. A total b*tch to get on and the ones I took off were offset (stock). I'm thinking I need to return these and get offset ones.
Why are there two types for the 2000 xj?

The factory links are bent bc of the relationship between the sway bar and the lower stud they mount on. Discos change all that so they are straight. What brand of discos do you have?

The ones I got were the RE 1160's I believe. For 3-4.5 lifts.
The angle of the sway bar is extreme too......more than the recommended 5-15 degrees, almost pointing at the 2 o'clock position.

quick disconnect question-neornin.jpg

does this look correct?
Also, they are almost impossible to reconnect after I "quick disconnect" them.

i would have to assume if you had any amount of spring compression, the top is going to contact the inside of the fender well.

I don't even understand these that came with the RE lift. I don't like how they're offset. Some people said it doesn't matter and that seems to be true but they still just don't look right.

One good thing is when you hang them they will easily cross over the swaybar so they can be tie strapped way up high.

Yea, I thought about that but unfortunately there is not enough room in there.

Cut an inch off your lower assembly, drill new holes, and pin them back together.

Certainly is one way of handling it. Does that mean that the angle is wrong?

Yeah, its a bit high. I'd just modify what you got and call it a day. Maybe a 30 minute job. Saw, vice, drill.

Should it be about parallel to the ground when properly working?

Look at the pics posted by McCaffrey and try to set it up about like that...
