So I am thinking about getting a 1.5 inch lift on my 99 XJ because I am using it as a daily driver but also want it for occasional lite off roading since its a 2wd, my main question is can I install leaf springs and keep the lift at 1.5 inches or do the leaf springs lift my jeep to around 2.5-3 inches? I'm completely new to this so anything would help. Also have regular stock tires, just got my jeep in June. I wanna replace the tires after they wear down and put on some all terrains.

Alright so do typical leaf springs usually go to about 2.5-3inches? Because I just want to stay in the 1-1.5 inch range. And I will look into those, thanks. I'm thinking about getting the rough country 1.5 inch lift kit.

I need to get Leaf Springs but maybe in the future I will replace the coil springs. I'm planning on getting a 1.5 inch lift kit but not sure which leaf springs would be appropriate for that.

There are almost limitless options. Google is your friend, you just need to put in a little effort to research what you want to do.

I've been looking at lift kits but the 1.5 inch lift kit from rough country doesn't come with leaf springs. What I am wondering is can I just get any leaf springs and will they be compatible with the 1.5 inch lift kit? Or do they need to be certain ones? Thanks

I'm assuming you want new leafs because yours are flat or negatively arched?
These should work for what you want.
Those leafs don't come with hardware or bushings. So add some additional cost for that stuff. Like I said, google is your friend, that's how I found those... Since your 2wd I would just do coil spacers for the front honestly.
If your rear springs aren't sagging though, just get a longer shackle.

Alright, thanks. I'll probably just replace the rear leaf springs. Mine are just old and I want some better ones, I'm at 246k Miles.

For only a little more $, you can get the 3" RC kit that includes front and rear springs, U bolts and shocks.
HERE- http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep-sus...t-kit-630.html
If you don't want 3", get a $12 Harbor Freight angle grinder (or hacksaw) and cut off 1 coil from the front springs and take out the smallest leaf of the rear springs.
Or wait a year as the RC springs will sag out and probably be right where you want.
If your springs are shot, using coil spacers and longer shackles is BS. A waste of money, time and effort and within a year you will replace your springs anyway.

Yep it is but we all learn from them. He is on a tight budget and this might be all the upgrading he is going to do. They are all the same- Zone, Rancho, Dorman, Crown, etc.
But their replacement warranty is tops. I broke a U joint on their XJ driveshaft, my fault, sent them a picture and they sent me a new drive shaft and I kept the old one. New U joint and now I have a trail spare.
