Default Proportioning Valve has Two Outputs to Front Brakes?

I have a 90 XJ. I have installed a long arm setup on the front with 12" shocks. The 24" brake hoses I installed previously are not long enough in the stock configuration. I am planning to route the front brake hose down the driver's side UCA to a tee on the axle, out to each wheel from there. The stock setup has separate outputs from the proportioning valve to each front wheel. I've done a bit of searching and can not figure out why the fronts have separate outputs from the prop valve and how best to route a single line from the prop valve to a tee on the front axle. Should I tee the two outputs of the prop valve together? Route one of the outputs to the front axle and cap the other? If so, which one would be better? Or should I just delete the prop valve and run an aftermarket adjustable prop valve on the rear line?

Really want the simplest solution that gives me safe brakes. The jeep is becoming more of a trail rig, trailered to the trail head. But I still use the jeep for around town driving occasionally and drive to the beach once in a while, with the wife and kids in the jeep.

My opinion... Proceed at your own risk.

I'm no expert or engineer but when it comes to brake systems I always felt it best to stick with what the manufacturer designed. Upgrade components - sure, definitely! But to completely re-do the system with a different design is a can of worms I would avoid personally. Your skill and confidence level is more than likely much higher than mine if you are looking into this..

f it came with 2 separate outlets on the prop valve for the front - there is a reason, could be performance, could be factory assembly related.. Is there any reason you couldn't just run new lines from the prop valve to each side separately and then cut and flare the lines to terminate in a location more suitable for your application? Or is the issue that you can't find hoses long enough going that route?

I've got a '91 dodge w250 (Dana 60 front axle) that runs a single line from the prop valve to above the axle, then hose to the axle with a splitter block, then lines from splitter block to each side of the axle, then hoses to calipers. And it works great. But that's how they designed it too. The prop valve on this truck actually has a second outlet for the front on it, but it is capped. I suppose you could reproduce this on your jeep, assuming you can find a long enough hose to go from above the frame down to the axle.

Good luck!

I haven't done much with the jeep in the last month, really need to get out there! I did some research and found that some XJs did come with that same port capped and the front routed off of just the one - the ones with ABS IIRC. I dont want to run two lines down from the prop valve due to packaging.
