Alright so this is half of what I fully want to do with my switches. As I have said plenty of times before with my specific Jeep, I like to do small mods using OEM hardware. What I'm doing with my switches is, I'm moving my rear glass to the same panel on the right side, and putting my auxiliary light switches on the left side. Today, is about the rear wiper and washer switches. Because I was moving the rear defrost switch over to the right side of the steering wheel, I needed to lengthen the harness.
Total lenglth added was about one foot.
On the left is the OEM terminals from a spare washer/wiper switch I had. On the right is the male terminals I crimped on. All wire is color matched and correct gauge.
I bent back the tabs on the OEM female spade connectors and reinserted them back into the plastic connector. I loomed everything together with friction tape, just like how it would have came from the factory.
I wanted to splice the harness in like this but did not have sleeved connectors and was too inpatient to wait to get some.
Instead, I put the stock connector back onto it. I wish I could of had done it where I utilized the switch base so it would snap in but my spare switches still work and I did not want to sacrifice one. I may come back and recrimp sleeved connectors.
In the meantime, I tesa taped the entire thing together.
This is the final product.
A problem I have is, the wiper part of the switch does not work at the moment. I had worked previously though. The washer portion still does work. I haven't dug any further into fuses and relays or wiring in the rear hatch but I'm sure its an easy fix. (Before you comment, the defroster switch is the one I relocated)
And speaking of the defroster, it also doesn't work, it never had. I'm sure it's just the red relay, but I'm not there yet. Something I am puzzled about is the switch wiring. I looked in my FSM and couldn't get much info on the wiring schematics. Here's the problem:
The switches both from my 1996 and the one included in the bezel from Ebay both have 4 pins, however my 1996 connector only has 3 female spade connectors in it. The Ebay on is a 4 pin connector. Both switch connectors are different colored wires, which is expected because 1996 was a transitional year. Anyone have any info on the different amount of spade connectors?

Sorry it's a long post, but thanks for reading! I hope to hear some feedback, and answeres from the community!
When I'm finally able to find the switch bezel, I plan on installing this on the left side of the steering wheel. It's a fog/dome light switch bezel from a Jeep Comanche. I plan on wiring the fog light switch to some stock fog lights, and the dome light switch to lights attached to my roof rack. The image for the dome light switch almost seems appropriate for what what I am using it for.
