Default Power Window; Low Voltage Issue

Hi all,
I have and '88 XJ Cherokee. I swapped the driver's door to one with a power window. I have 12 V at the fuse block where I tied in the power to this door but only 8 V into the master switch on the arm rest. The window actuates but runs slowly and needs manual help at times. What am I dealing with here? Just a bad connection at the fuse block? Any suggestions would be helpful!
Regards,
De@n

what size wire did you run? I just added power windows to my 88 chevy truck and used a 10 gauge wire for the power. also using a 25 amp circuit breaker in line.

Forgot to mention, I also ran straight from the battery with the breaker installed next to the battery.

Thanks for the response. I got started on running a #10 wire from the battery. I will let you know how it turns out. Obviously, I think you have a handle on the problem. The wire I used was 14 AWG with a female plug on it that plugs into the fuse block. It could easily be a little small. I also thought about looking at the window rails to make sure they aren't putting too much drag on the window. I can check that out when I get the door panel off (again!).

Thanks again!

^^^ he beat me to it. Yeah, make sure your ground wire is up to par (don't just ground them to the door. Run a wire back to the body.

Thanks for the help! I haven't made time to get back to this issue yet but when I do I will run a dedicated ground.
