Power steering loss/cut out intermittantly
I just did a Durango box swap last month and had one ride prior to this past weekend. Everything went fine on the first ride. Now, 2 days ago I ran some trails that were very tight and very technical requiring a lot of turning from lock to lock. The day started off fine but as the day went on, the power steering got to a point were I could no longer turn the wheels if the vehicle was stationary. And forget even trying to turn if I was in any sort of a bind. Rolling at low speeds even posed a problem and I had to really work out my arm and shoulder muscles to turn. On the road however, everything was fine and I could steer with minimal effort with one hand. Also, I started to notice a lot more pump whining than normal.
Does any of this above sound like the pump is starting to fail or should I inspect the Durango box since that was just swapped in? Also, I did bleed the system after installing the new box and there is plenty of fluid in the reservoir.
Any and all help is appreciated.

I had almost the same thing happen, except if I two footed it I could get a tiny bit of assist. Turned out to be my pump. I did the wj upgrade and have had no issues so far.

My suspicion was the pump and being that it's still the original it most likely is the issue then. I just wanted to get some other inputs before I started throwing money at it again. Thanks for your help.
Also, where in NC are you?

I have the WJ pump with the fitting drilled out and can turn my 35s with one finger. Never seem to lose assist after a day of wheeling either
