Yes most certainly. As soon as jury duty sets me free

I have a 2 inch BB lift on my 2001 jeep Cherokee sport as well. I have a "thud" every now and than coming from a stop to acceleration. I think its the driveshaft hitting the rear out put shaft of the transfer case. put some grease in there. or its the u joints. I replaced my u joints and it didn't help.
I also only have the 231 transfer case

This sounds like drum brakes. After stopping, then resuming travel, a thud is heard more than felt. I had two jeep that did this until I replaced brake shoes and hardware kit.
The slip-yoke on rear driveshaft should not be bottoming out in the stock configuration.

I inspected my rear brakes two months ago, I didn't see anything out of the ordinary

Me either when I inspected, but is common with drums brakes.
Depending on where this thud is, could be motor mounts.

So here are two pictures of the "gashes" on my joint that stems from front drive shaft to transfer case. It doesn't appear to have gotten worse after driving approximately 20 miles after first noticing it.

sorry for the quality but there is either some type of rubbing going on, from where i have no idea or a rogue piece of debris came up and chopped at it. Rest of the area appears unscathed. I'm wondering if this could be the aftermath of my clunk/grind noise I would guess no only because it happens multiple times while I'm driving and it doesn't seem to be too deep or fresh after just coming home.

Also, slightly off topic but i noticed something I would like to clarify. My rear axle is certainly a Chrysler 8.25 but as I was under the yeep taking the picture above i noticed the U-joint in question had D35 printed on it. Did 2001 XJ's come from factory with D35 front and Chrysler 8.25 rear? Or was there a swap by PO? Do the axles always match front and back? Sorry for noob questions but I would like to learn all there is to know and after a small amount of research I didn't find anything about this.

Looks like the e-brake cables are rubbing it.
D35 must be only related to the joint itself. The dana 35 and chrysler 8.25 use the same size u-joints.

Are the E-brake cables right above that joint? Do you think the tapping of gas and letting off gas is whats causing that joint to move into brake cable thus creating my issue?
