Started the Plasti-dip color transformation over the weekend. Washed my jeep off good to remove any grime or junk. Since I have a white XJ, I took the recommendation of the DIPYOURCAR,COM website and put a base coat of gun-metal gray first, then the camo green (my final color) over it.
had a few hiccups around some of the trim where the Plasti-dip adhered to the tape a bit too much and it took some off the body, but that is the great thing about plasti-dip, just redo it until you like it.
I only got front quarter panel and the two drivers side doors done before I ran out of time. will finish it up as time allows. Hopefully by this weekend.
Here is a pic of my progress so far.

Damn that look pretty good. Doing my wheels in dip today (Sunday). Did you use the spray CANS for that or a spray gun? Any blotchyness close up? Can you post a picture 1-2 feet away? I may have to do the same thing. My factory paint blows.

here is a closer picture as requested. It goes on pretty smooth with no lines like regular spray cans typically leave.

I haven't had any issues with any bird poop, just washes right off. I am sure that branches could scrape it hard enough to rake it off, but after its on for a few hot days, its stuck on there pretty freaking good. I haven't hit anything substantial with it yet, but am not really worried about it. #1, it is a jeep after all, so scratches really don't worry me and #2, I have an extra couple of cans to patch up any issues. Heck, if I get a bad enough area, I will just peel it off from that part and redo it all. Piece of cake.
All together I probably have about $130 or so in it.
Just as a reference, here is what it looked like in March when I started working on it:

and what it looks like now:
