performance curve exhaust with hitch
i got the performance curve exhaust system: http://performance-curve.com/84-01ch...ailpipe-1.aspx and a universal reese trailer hitch for christmas. me and my dad installed the exhaust system today and we went to install the reese trailer hitch but the new exhaust system is right in the way. does anyone have this exact exhaust system with a trailer hitch?
are the rear bumpers with hitches built in very strong like a class III hitch?
thanks,
joma

Thats tricky.. I just got the same kit minus the flowmaster muffler, What kind of tailpipe hanger do you have? With the little moving you can do with the muffler and tailpipe, Maybe get some clearance

i think what he means is a hitch meant for jeep. universal doesnt mean that it will work for every vehicle with no work. a hitch meant for a jeep will have everything already worked out, and you wont have any issue with the exhaust.

the thing is the hitch would work fine with the stock exhaust but because of the different bend in the tailpipe compared to stock the hitch wont fit

Replace your old rusty stock exhaust system with this performance exhaust system brought to you by Performance Curve. The fast flowing Mandrel bent tubing and free flowing Flowmaster muffler will give your Jeep an increase in Horse Power, Torque and Fuel Economy while adding a deep and aggressive tone.
Application:
Make: Jeep
Model: Cherokee
Engine: 4.0L (242ci)
Years: 84-01
Material: Aluminized
Includes: Flowmaster Super 44 Muffler, Tail Pipe and Clamps
This is a "universal" fit exhaust kit for Jeep Cherokees. Some modifications may be required. We recommend professional installation.

i have the same exhaust with a flowmaster muffler, i added a hitch to my jeep after i did the exhaust. I didnt like the way the tail pipe came out at the back of my jeep, so i cut the last 6 inches or so off and bought a universal turndown from autozone, and put it at a 45 degree angle going out the side of the jeep. gave me room for my hitch and keeps the fumes going away from my jeep.

mine is def a tight fit, i just disconnected the rear hanger on the tailpipe that is right next to the leafs. then used a coat hanger to hold the exhaust a couple inches out of the way. I just wanted to say its def doable with that exhaust.
