Default Is a performance catalytic convertor worth buying?

I'm upgrading my stock muffler to a flowmaster 44, and since the pipes rusted through all way. My catalytic convertor fell off, I'm wondering should I just get the OEM cat welded back on or spend some money for a "performance catalytic convertor" need help guys thanks in advance

the 'performance' ones are usually smaller and cheaper.. thats the only reason i would buy one.

Would I gain more power because of less back pressure? Or is it even noticeable?

I noticed a decent bit of improvement on my Xj.

But I had a custom 2.5" downpipe , hiflow cat , and catback welded up at the same time. I'm wondering what improvements my header will give when I install it on Thurs
