While installing new upper control arm bushings in the axle, I was getting pissed at my jeep for not playing nice and forgot to put something in the mount to keep it from collapsing. So what do I do know? That bracket is squished together pretty good. I'll go snap a picture and post it as evidence of my stupidity.

I've been trying to find an after market mount that I can just cut the stock mount off and weld on a new one, but haven't had any luck besides Curries J-Joint replacement which are $$$

Pics would help. I've never seen a UCA mount collapse because it didn't have anything in it.

 

i have. its just two pieces of metal, weak pieces of metal at that. thats why i said plate it.

curious how you would plate it?
kinda odd shape.. would you go all 3 sides? and drill holes for the bushing to go thru?

 

most people just box them in on the front with some 3/16"

a boxed structure is much stronger than a stamped channel
