My 1999 Jeep is starting to peel, chip, crack... so I am going to paint it with a ss urethane paint myself. I expect the job to look decent but it is 14 years old so I wanted something cheap to last a while.
I was wanting to paint it a deep blue which is the stock color, but I wanted to paint the fender flares (which are now bedliner) and grill and new logo badges a bright yellow.
It looks good in my head, anyone think it would look good in real life?
Since I was going to all the work of a paint job I wanted it to pop a little.

I don't envision that looking too great either...
But hey it's all preference. If you wanna do it, go for it. Just make sure you post pictures

Do you have any pictures? I can have someone from another forum photoshop it or I can try to do it for you. It's always best to get a visual image before goin all out

Wow, that's going to be ugly. Even if it seems like a good idea now, you will be made fun of by 95% of people here. And given that you are asking strangers about what color to paint your Jeep beforehand, I am assuming that it would bother you if people made fun of your yellow flares.

No, someone making fun of me wouldn't bother me.
But I have always liked the Michigan blue and yellow (though I'm not a Michigan fan).
I had a friend who had an old CJ that painted his blue with a yellow stripe down the center and it looked good.
I was really wanting to just add some color beside blue and black. Which I have now and it does look good.

I agree, not a bad color combo... but you probably don't want the entire thing blue with just flares and badges yellow. Would kind of look like it was an afterthought. If you really like those colors, and want them on your jeep, I say go for it. But try to tie them together. Instead of just the flares, go yellow on the rockers/lower doors in a somewhat traditional two-tone approach.
It could turn out great, or it could be atrocious. Photoshop is definitely a good way to visualize it before committing.
