Has anyone ever smashed their oil pan tho ?

Haven't really heard about one being smashed but I'm running 3.5" lift with 35's and I figure better safe than sorry! One less thing to worry about to. Had the pan off for oil pump/ rod bearings so figured why not beef it up!

Only thing I hit very often is the TC skid plate and fuel tank skid. My lower control arms have skids on them as well. So far I haven't hit my oil pan on any hard surface but have going over large trees down on trail.

Yes, I've seen/known of people (across various vehicle platforms) that have punctured theirs on the trail. Not only does getting a fix figured out suck, but so does the massive clean up.
