Default NP 242 SYE Questions

Im going to trying and do the custom SYE from this link http://www.go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoSYEconversion.htm Now for the sealing of the end of the housing. It says that for pre 96 NP242 that you need that part. But what about a 97+? My current Tcase is a 97 NP242. So im guessing i need that part? Also. Is the guy that is linked in the article still making/selling them? For how much?

I kinda need some info so if i do this. I dont screw it up. Thanks

The pre 96 cases tail shaft seals around the actual slip yoke, where the post 96 cases seal around the output shaft. You need a bolt on seal housing which is included in most hack and taps for pre-96 cases. Where as post 96 case you just cut the output shaft, drill/tap the hole and bolt up your yoke/flange.

Check out the IRO hack and tap kits, You can get it with or without the seal. Its more or less the exact same thing as the one in your link from go jeep.
