Here is what my MIT SYE kit looks like on my 89' NP242. I installed this back in 2003. I don't remember how much it was.

I talked to a man at dirt bound offroad to day and he said that with there hack and tap that you cand use the oem front drive shaft with there kit as long as the cherokee is not lifted over 5in and that the barring cap for the 96 and older transfer cases uses the oem tail shaft seal. I hope that helps every one out.

After I installed my SYE, I actually drove around for a week with only the front D/S. Yup, front wheel drive. I hade to wait for my rear D/S in the mail. I measured from Yoke to Yoke after the SYE install. The red arrow in the below pic shows where on the Yoke I measured from. I don't recall the measurement. I reckon that would be different for everybody based on the length of the yoke used and the rear end. Dana 44 input suppose to be 1" longer than a Dana 35.
