did it just start suddenly or has the pressure been getting worse?

how many miles on it?

you could check the connector and wiring on the sending unit

It's probably your oil pressure sending unit. They're known for going out on cherokee's. I would replace that (cheap) and see if it fixes your problem. Good luck

all of a sudden i noticed, doesent change when the engine is warm or how high i run the rpms, as soon as i start it the pressure sits where it normally was then goes to 0 and stayes there doesent move..? i also run 5w30 because of the cold out here and a canadian tire filter, i changed the oil a week or so ago, but dident notice this problem until the other day

change you're oil pressure sending unit as mentioned above.

There's a good chance you bumped it and damaged it when you were changing the oil filter. I did that once on my xj. Stupid things made of plastic and right were your hand goes if the filter wrench slips.

It's cheap and will only take you a few minutes to change. Report back, let us know if it worked.
