New steering wheel
I installed a 2014 compass wheel on my xj, debating going through the hassle to make the swc work.. anyway I need a new clockspring anyway, just curious what will happen when I plug a xj airbag plug into the compass airbag. The compass has 2 plugs, I cannot find any wiring diagrams for what the difference is, Id assume yellow to yellow. If anyone has done this swap before id like to hear some insight, with or without swc.

Do not plug that in. The airbag connectors are different for a reason.
Mixing and matching airbag systems from different vehicles is extremely dangerous. You could cause the airbag to deploy unexpectedly or not deploy at all in a crash.
You need to find a clockspring and wheel from a similar year XJ, TJ, or WJ that uses the same single-plug system. Do not experiment with airbag wiring.

Do not connect the XJ airbag connector to the Compass steering wheel without significant modification or adaptation. If you want to use the Compass steering wheel with functional controls, look for a Compass-compatible rotary switch.
