New member lost on next mods? 2000 xj
Hi, my name is Adam is use to be a subaru enthusiast but decided to try jeeps out. I bought a 1996 zj with rustys 5.5 long arm. A few months later it was hit in a intersection by someone not paying attention.
Luckily I found a stock clean 2000 xj. I drove it stock awhile then just 2 weeks ago I decided to add a lift. I ended up with the rc 3" add-a-leaf w/ 31's. Im bored.
Now to my point, I would like to fit 33's I have my fenders cut to the max. Should I buy a bigger lift (4.5) or can I upgrade the one I have with (uca/lca),track bar, shocks, acos and blocks? The tcase needs to be upgraded if I go any higher. I like my 242 it works great but the aftermarket support and sye kits I dont really like. Is it worth to swap in a 231? I have $1800.00 I wouldnt mind putting into the jeep.
The jeep is my DD and I take it out every now and then on the weekends. Can you guys give me some input.

33s on 3in lift look awesome as hell. So with 1800 I would get new 33s, extend the bumpstops and put the rest into the tcase since you are saying you want to swap it anyways and still have some money left over. Dont do blocks, get longer shackles if you decide on4.5. At 3in you could just keep te tcase you have with no SYE and put the rest of the cash into your axles or a winch and a bumper or whatever. Some many options.

My buddy has 265/75/16 (32.988" i think)tires and I rolled them next to my truck and it looked like it would hit the back bumper a lil but I do have 15's on. is the d30lp that bad of a axle for a dd and light trail wheeling on weekend? I guess im asking on how I should properly upgrade it so I can run 33" without selling the lift I just bought.

Id say take it out and wheel it. You can go pretty far with a 3" lift and 31's. Put a lunchbox locker in if you want to go further. Maybe a winch, and some sliders and or skid plates.
The minute you step up to bigger tires you'll want to regear and that's big money.

If I get a aussie or spartan for the d30 should I upgrade the the shafts to or find a hp and swap to that and upgrade? Would it be wise to upgrade my steering?track bar/HD tie rod and drag link?

Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac 31's ($720 installed)
aussie or spartan locker (idk enough about them yet to choose) ($350?)
That leaves around $800 left that I dont know what to upgrade.
Also could I have vibrations from having a OE endlink? My kit never came with them

Hey. I lifted my 95 XJ 4 inches and only just started to get vibration at the drive shaft uni joint. I just dropped my transfer case an inch with spacers and it's all good. It was simple as, made the spacers myself. You should be fine at 3 inches tho. I have 31's and a rear Aussie locker and am very happy, didn't need to regear at that size. I do dream of 33's and 4:11 gears every night tho....

You just had to post 33's on a 3" lift That looks really good. I guess I'm getting:

3in on 31s with a locked front and armor underneath makes for a very capable Jeep.

Well the guy on the phone told me the wrong price, I knew that price was to good to be true. Now it's $903.88 installed 31x10.5x15 Goodyear wrangler duratracs. So I either need to re budget and get the tires or find a different set of tires.

I would strongly recommend 33's if your thinking 31's. its always a month or two then Wanting bigger lol
if you want 4" of lift I would do a shackle relocation bracket in the rear and a 1" spacer up front giving you 1" inch all around, and a better ride as well as flex in the back.
either way as stated above, locker and sliders will greatly improve the capability and re-leave worry of beating your body. If you can work it in Frame stiffeners are a great investment for the longevity of the vehicle.

Ouch, my 35 KM2's where only $950 installed with no questions asked replacement warranty for punctures... Discount tire has had the best prices for me. they will also match or beat others prices. Even online prices with shipping

I hear ya, it wouldn't be to bad on the trans, 33's are ok with stock gearing, but your MPG and power will be a bit worse lol. I do agree regearing will be needed/wanted with 33's. 32's may be the happy medium for what you want.... but 31's are plenty capable. I have been surprised with what some people do with 31's locked.
