New Lift?
I'm hoping that I got a good deal. I just ordered my new lift kit from a local off road shop. I have a 00 XJ with 72k on it. It's the wifes ride. I want her to be happy and have a comfy ride. Currently, the stock suspension is about wasted. I put a few hundred pounds in the rear and it sags pretty bad. That's with no one in the back. I think the shocks have seen better days, ect..... Sooooo, I got a lift for it, should be in tomorrow. Wife is pissed at the price tag, doesn't want me screwing with yet another Jeep (our third). If it rides nicely or better than OE, then I think she will ease up on me and not be too pissed. It's gonna be her DD and it might ( I emphasize the word MIGHT) see a trail once or twice a year if that. It her grocery getter, family ride.
3" BDS Lift with new full leaf packs and Bilstein 5100 shocks all OTD after tax at $1100.00
Sound good? I plan on getting it aligned and new tires before presenting it to her. I was thinking either a 30 or 31" tire. Are the Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac's well behaved? I don't want it loud. Were in Michigan, so a good winter tire is a plus. I also looked at the KM2. They look mean, and I don't think the wife wants that. I have had both BFG AT's & Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor's and loved em both.
Suggestions?

31 10.5 15 you will different wheels or spacers to avoid rubbing control arm. Which is super annoying 1100 seems a little steep not sure though does it come with aftermarket control arms.

No new control arms. The kit with full leaf pack I was quoted by 3 different places with BDS shocks at about $870.00 + 6% tax. Then I added the Bilstein 5100 shocks. I know most places online charge $80.00 per set. I figured that the Bilsteins were better than the BDS as far as shocks go. I loved my Bilsteins on my old TJ. I just hope this thing doesn't sit to high up or I'll never hear the end of it..... She got forced to drive my old TJ (6" on 35's) when I took a new work assignment and needed my car due to gas prices and distance from home. If she's not happy with it, I'm flat out f**ked. I just want a nice solid ride for her. If I tried to piece together a new suspension for her XJ, similar to stock) it would have cost a small fortune anyway.
BDS's website states that it will fit 31x10.50 x15 with their kit. Perhaps I should look at 30" tires instead. Save an inch, not as high?
