Default new leaf spring brake-in

I have a 93 2dr and just installed Rubicon's 3.5 super ride full leaf w/bilstiens, t drop, and 2 degree shims.

The rear of my XJ is STIFF AS A ****, like kidney shifting stiff

Im new to this whole lifting/wheeling thing so I have nothing to compare it to but my 19yr old flat leafs and coils felt better then this.

I wasnt expecting a cadillac ride or anything but this thing is HARD

I read they have to break-in, any tips/tricks to speed this process along?

my back and kidneys thanks you in advance

This is what ya don't want.

Shackle angle makes a huge difference.

Longer shackle or shackle relocation brackets. I saw some thingies that remove the shackle and use a slider type deal. Looks comfy.

Whats the cheap way and whats the right way?

longer shackle vs. shackle relocation bracket

Ive seen adjustable shackles too.

I would like the option to be able to go higher later down the line, if thats even a option. Right know I just need this resolved

I have brand new RE springs with bilsteins as well. I spent $120 on shackle relocation brackets to fix my angle. they added like 2" of lift and it still rode pretty crappy. I was told you just need to wheel them a lot and break them in so I go twice a week. the ride is finally starting to get better after 3.5 months

If you can't wheel that often, what else would you recommend? I'm breaking in practically new 6.5 leafs on stock shackles. Would hauling around a lot of weight for a period of time help at all?

Can you go more into detail on that slider thing? Sounds interesting.

not sure about the hauling. I've considered removing the second to last (or even the bottom 2) leaf from the pack in order to lower it and make it flex better. but I'm to afraid that they'll go flat or give me bad wheel hop. so for now I'm just waiting it out.

another thing I was looking at was stretching the rear with some fab work.
(scroll down to the pic with the tire http://www.naxja.net/forum/showpost....9&postcount=11)
".... I'll be running a set of RE 3.5" leafs and relocate the front hanger backward 3" from stock...."
sounds like something I'd be interested in. or cutting out the stock rear hanger and drilling plates and welding them in to make your own built in relocation so you dont gain lift height.

Idk. I really don't like the whole idea of the relocation brackets. they add way more lift height than advertised, they ran the welds on the ones I got from LII so I had to sand bushings on my shackles, they squeak when they flex. just an annoying upgrade. in a do-over I'd try the leaf sliders. or get the shackle relocation from HDoffroadengineering

Won't longer shackles improve the angle? The Jeep isn't lifting straight off of them, it's technically tilting forward since the front bolt is in the frame, right?

I need to find out, 4wheel parts did the lift install. You would hope they installed it properly.

All I know is, if this is there "super ride" kit, I would hate to see what some cheaper kit ride like just sayin

I wouldn't expect much from that company.
