Sorry XJmarc but you are incorrect. Roll steer or tie rod roll is from inverted t setups where the drag link connects to the tie rod... Most high steer arms have 2 seperate holes on the passenger side arm: 1 for the drag link, 1 for the tie rod. To run a crossover steering setup.

First off you don't need 9" to run 38s, I'm doing it with a smidge over 6". That being said get the knuckles machined for high steer arms if it's ball joint or get king pin high steer arms if it's king pin. Skip the crossover unless you like roll steer. With good high steer arms you won't need crossover. You don't necessarily need hydro or hydro assist but it would be nice with the bigger tires. I've got an assist setup I'm working on, just have other things that are more important at the time. If you plan on driving it on the street most states frown upon full hydro, plus if the engine dies you can't steer. There is a ton of info out there you just have to look. Google is you friend, just search Dana 60 high steer.

sorry, just most people post here about 1 ton setups and are just throwing questions out and never do it bc they are way over their heads.
then dont buy a kit made for a XJ with stock axles, i did and it was a bad idea. getting all the link mounts to "fit" in a D30 location was a PITA and made me compromise on what i wanted. if you can put all this together like you say you can, build your own links. if you want the best possible setup, you should be looking into full hydro, or at least assist... and THAT is where you want to buy a kit bc all the redneck ram DIY methods suck in comparison, arent reliable, and dont work as well. The three names in that are Lee, PSC, and Howe. if you go the assist route, put a high steer arm on the passenger side and run crossover steering.
