Hey,
I've been looking for a new steering setup and came across a few options. I was going to do the v8 grand cherokee upgrade but i decided to keep the buy once cry once mentality. Anyway looking to keep it around $300 or less. Need help choosing from the following, all UTK preferably. As of now i dont offroad as much as i would like.
These seem the same to me, after reading some people dont like to DD heim joints but i don't see why??
Cavfab
B Lee
And these seem the same to me
Serious offroad
JCR
97 XJ 3" BDS lift, 31 inch tires stock wheels for now. used as a DD.

I'm still using the V-8 ZJ TRE's on mine @ 4 1/2" of lift and tires 35" 6-8 psi mostly all off road use and at $100 for a direct bolt in setup at AZ. It has been on for 4 yrs now if/when it fails I will spend more on an aftermarket setup and the smallest tires used were 33's.

I'm running Cavfabs steering and love it. Quality heims are great on the road, it's the ebay heims you don't want to run ever. Only downside to heims is you can't just pick a replacement locally at any auto store like you can with tres. I'm running 3.5"s of lift with 33s and with no bend in my drag link (not high clearance) I can't adjust it the last 1/2" to center the steering wheel. It's about 45 degrees off but doesn't cancel the turn signals so I don't mind.
I dont think i would ever need more than a ZJ upgrade but for an extra $100 for the cavfab seems worth it. I also like the fact that i get a whole new steering setup to include a draglink and ends because i think mine are worn out. Not sure why the other 3 kits are $100 more

I don't think I needed more then the ZJ tie rod as well but i wasn't going to waste money on stock parts when my drag link went bad. Rather have overbuilt and no worries anyway.Originally Posted by foreman05

can you weld?
TMR offers a few really nice kits. they have the best weld in tube adapters to use regular chevy 1 ton TREs.
their listed in canadian dollars, so with exchange, it's a very good price for what you get.
their tube adapters are all designed by them and made in house and they stand behind their products 100 percent.
they are getting really popular in the KOH scene too.
