So today I disconnected the cat, clean the IAC, and double checked the TPS. Upon inspection of the TPS I found the connector had frayed wires coming from it. Fixed that and now my idle has returned to normal. I’m going to take it for a test drive and see what happens. Definitely a lot louder and sounds more like a old crammed out Muscle car. Not a fan but once I get the full pipe back on it will be good. Hopefully the test drive goes well and I will be able to report good news.

So taking the cat off did not help which leads me to assume it’s not clogged. I continue to have a rough pulsating idle and power loss when under load. Not to mention it still seems like it is not getting enough air or gas. I posted a video of the idle. Hopefully you can hear it. I’m at a loss right now. All wires in harness are good from what I see. Still getting the misfire codes p0300, p0303 and p0304. Need to do a compression test might do that tomorrow. School has got me swamped. Thank you to all that have tried to help so far.

did a leak test with propane and starter fluid. Idle didn’t even budge. I will try it again tomorrow. Just need to put the exhaust back on.

Im digging here.

Knock sensor?

Im leaning on a grounded out wire somewhere.

Did you check compression.

Im assuming the vacumn leak testing would have found unhooked vacumn lines in the throttle body area..

Where is the crank position sensor. Bolts loose, wires melted on header tube.

I've made motors run pretty decent spraying fuel in the throttle body as a test.

Fuel pump might be shot. Filter plugged a mist of gas in the throttle body might tell something? I dunno

So finally got around to doing the compression check.
1. 125
2. 125
3. 60
4. 60
5. 130
6. 125

Guess next step is to aim to replace gasket hoping it isn’t the head that is cracked. Will have to order and wait for it to come in. Hopefully I have time to do it before I go TDY. Hope it isn’t as bad as it can be. Wish me luck!!!!! Good news is I got my tune up out of the way.

slight miss on 3,4 ; might consider engine repair,
It wont take long to do that and cost few hundreds and some labor.
when remove oil cap from VC check if can see TUPY on cast, Tupy is improved.
check some material on YT . good pistons can get from 17a piece rings around 30, rod bearings are 20, little cylinder honing and back on road.
If rings are seized try to remove spraks and maybe pour some marvel oil for couple days it might be 50/50 chance but sometimes is worth doing.

Does it smoke?

If cam lobes are wiped out on intake lobes it will pull oil through the rings . Because intake valves might not be opening it pulls from the crank case pucase pulling oil..

Pull valve cover watch rockers as its idleing. You may see two rockers barely moving compared to the rest.

Spray water in the throttle body till it chokes at idle. Steam is great inside the engine for cleaning.
also can dump motor oil and fill with tractor fluid or atf to maybe clean gunk out. Run it for awhile then dump it.

2stroke oil in the gas is also a good cleaner in the combustion chamber.

I'd definitely feed it water for 15-20minutes you may hear it pick up the dead holes. But plugs might also be fouled

Good luck.

Plugs in 3 and 4 definitely fouled. I have to get the valve cover off and see what’s going on. I do have white smoke on start up and through warming up but once warm smoke goes away.

smoke might be caused by old or overheated valve seal

Smoke is from unturned fuel or oil. Its gettjust hot enough in the manifold header.

Reminds me another good tool is a good temp gun. You can easily find wich cylinders are dead or tired. The healthy holes are probly running at 500-600 at the head of the header tube. Those at 60 probably 300-400.

Its od theyre both at 60psi. Ive got my hopes up that those cylinders are still alive. Thats an oddity that would have me digging into vzlve train.

im also curious what it would do if you clean those plugs up. Give it alittle fire in those holes..
