hey guys i got a few surface rust spots that ima fix up. I have the dark green jeep cherokee im sure you guys know what it looks like. Im trying to find some rust oleum paint that will match it okay. I know its not going to be perfect but just so its at least the same shade.

I looked online and theres Meadow Green,Hunter Green,Hunt Club Green,Moss Green,Leafy Green, thats about it i tried the hunter green and its more like bluish/green. im thinking maybe moss green but any input on this ??

thanks.

Check your paint code inside your door jamb. You will be able to find a factory match at your local auto paint store. If they don't have it they can order for you in spray or bottle.

sand, primer with Rustoleum rust preventor flat gray. Sand again, prime again. Duplicolor 2 coats, do a very fine sand, then do another coat and the 2 coats of clearcoat.

If you don't want it to fade out quickly, then yes, you'll want some clear coat as well. You can get it in a spray can for pretty cheap.

well that pg8 paint is pretty close in color now my question is i got a rust spot that went through and theres a hole. I have the metal mesh to put over it but do i put it behind the panel or on/ in front of it ? cause then ima put bondo on it and sand it and paint it. Also when i use bondo do i have to put a primer before or after it ?

while painting do i want to tape it of ? i tried today and if i tape it it leaves lines if i free hand it its nice a smooth.

thanks guys.
