Tonight i started up my 1997 cherokee and the radio doesnt work nor the gas gauge i just finished cutting my fenders and putting the plastic wheel well thing in. Mounted it to stop snow and mud getting in the door jam. You guys got any ideas what happened.

Wild shot in the dark. But check the fuse block itself. I just recently started haveing an electrical issue with my xj. The radio stopped working the speakers make noise when its of and the maker lights come on when you hit the brakes. I have a water leak that I think may have effected the fuse block. It may be possible that water got into yours to. I haven't put the new block in yet so I don't know if that's it but just something to think about.

check the fuse and pull the radio and gauges fuse out and look to see if terminals are corroded. if they are try cleaning them or tighting them.
