Default Need advice what locker to buy for XJ

what would i be better with. A Detroit TruTrac which i learned is a limited slip or a Richmond Lock-rite. tell me the pros and cons if you have any and why one is better than the other. Im getting ready to put 410's in my Dana 30 finally and wanting to go ahead and put a locker in it. also where is the cheapest you all have seen gear sets and install kits from. Thanks for ur help

I have had both of those and both failed. The Truetrac was worthless with anything over a 33 in the front because I couldn't use my brakes to force it to lock up so it was like an open carrier. I've had several lockwrongs and the springs wear fast as do the gears and they tend to unload or just plain not work at all. Aussies and Spartains are the best lunchbox lockers I've ran. I currently have a Spartan in my front and it works as well as any locker I've ran if not better.

I run Aussie up front and Lockright in the rear. Been running that for 4 yrs. No issues. Cost about $250-$300 each. Best money I've spent. Looking to convert the rear to 29 spline and get an Aussie for the rear.

so if i go with a Spartan will my driving manners be ok on the road? its a daily driver. will i notice anything different just driving it on the street? im also installing a Powertrax No Slip in the rear. got a good deal on it so i thought why not.

you are the first one i have ever heard of not liking the TruTrac. i have 4.56 gears, and 35 inch tires on my front diff and i have no problem getting it to lock up. i have a manual tranny so it might be a little different, but i love mine to death. i also have a detroit locker in the rear. it works great, but if i did it again i would have gone with an ARB for my rear Dana 44
