It CAN be done with the ABS pump still in there but it's a PITA to get it in there. You'll need to relocate the airbox slightly to ease the bend right out of the air box. I used the 3 inch flex hose from Advance Auto and some other accesories and it now works perfectly. No water at all either. Thanks to all those who did this before me, posted pics and gave out their secrets!

somewhere along my 91 has been jacked with alot cause my resavoir is located on the driver side and it has the closed coolant system, but they left the orignal overflow tank on it as well so when one looks under the hood one see it has two coolant tanks but only one the expansion tank is hooked up

Hey man, you're welcome. I was super happy that I could even get it in there and not have to mess with the brake lines. I wasn't looking forward to that job.
I'm not big on flex hose but that really doesn't look bad. If I do it this way I can keep my washer bottle stock.. like it.
Honestly, I was going for a more "professional/expensive" look but with the ABS, nothing else fits over there. I bought all 3 inch black PVC and returned it because no matter what I did, I couldn't get anything to fit. Not even moving the air box. We got some serious floods at the shore right after I did it. My neighbor said I looked like a boat going down the road. I had no problems with the set up. I was happy with it. I originally thought of going over to the passenger side but this was cheaper.

No I didn't actually. I did see one from Spectrum Intakes I think they are called. They had a nice set up for $249.00 It's basically a fancy version of what I kinda did. This set up cost me about $30. Now I have $200+ for a custom driveshaft now.

You can buy the separate pieces cheap. Real cheap. I will try to get it together in the next couple weeks and will post pics if it works out.

After looking at some of these really nice put together diy snorkels, I think someone should just really piece together a "kit" ..
and sell em with instructions - but not for stupid money.
we all know it can be done for $30 - $70
so why not piece together some stuff and sell it for the cost + an extra 20 + shipping ..
Personally, Id pay $100 for someone else's leg work if all I had to do was drill a hole and follow instructions...
Basically Im saying - yawl did a great job on your snorkels. Im jealous. Only cause Im trying to do a passenger side snorkel and have only found 1 design I like but not enough to put a hole in my jeep and with my luck mess it up..

so I drove through a goddamn monsoon for about 1.5Hrs last weekend and hit some massive puddles at speed. Checked the airbox afterwords.

BTW, just did this mod in my FIL's Jeep today to make sure it was ready for the storms. Only took about 20 or so minutes since he didn't have the ABS module like I did. I wish all the Jeep projects went that easy. haha!
