I wanna get a dual muffler with 4 inch tips on each side... People on YouTube said you would need a heat shield for the tank... Is this true? And what's a good muffler to give it a roar and not the gay pop crackle roar... Thanks Michael

I just got my XJ last night, mine only has 1 muffler and its on passenger side, it's not stock it looks to me like a flow master or magna flow, it dosnt have the gay piping sound and it sounds pretty good, but can't here it over the swampers on highway...... If you don't want the pop stay away from glass packs, cherry bombs ect.

Whats "gay" would be dual 4 inch tips on a vehicle with a straight 6. Also my xj has the longer thrush glasspack and has no pop at all.

Go big or go home... I talked to a friend and I can get away with a straight pipe no muffs no cats. (No emissions where I live).

Just don't want to see people get banned for something so dumb.

don't be an idiot, run a cat. I shouldnt have to go into the reasons to run one.

as for the exhaust, dual 4" tips scream rice, but thats just me.

Im sure its safe to say this isn't for a wheeler.

X2. If I had dual 4" tips on mine, they wouldn't last 15 minutes into the first trail. To each his own, but if you actually wheel your jeep, just put a stock tailpipe on it.

Duals on the 4.0 just won't do much. It'll take up more room than you want and probabaly be a hassle.

Flowmaster Super 40 is perfect. Awesome deep roar but not so much that it is droning.

Performance curve has the perfect set up for the price.

Can't go wrong with a Super 40.
I've had both a Magnaflow and Super 40. I had the Magnaflow first and it started sounding like a tuna boat. Got a Super 40 and will never look back
