Not trying to burst your bubble or enthusiasm, the 267 is, for lack of a better word, a boat anchor. Look at any small block building book, they say stay away from the 267. It does however have the same outer dimensions as all other Chevy small blocks. I would go with another engine. As far as the transmission, the AX 15 could work as long as you keep your foot out of the radiator.

Yep. Worst motor ever to do a sbc conversion with. Even a junkyard 305 would be a significantly better choice...
FYI - That 301 was about 100 horsepower normally aspirated. They made a turbo version of it in some of the "pace car" edition firebirds that was still a total piece of garbage.

The 267 has a displacement of 4.3L. You can get the same displacement from a GM 4.3L V-6. Probably much easier to stuff 2 less cylinders in that engine bay if your are dead set on a swap.
You could stroke the 4.0 and get more displacement than a 267 and not have to fab or convert anything. Your Jeep will never be a race car anyway.
Good luck!

It is a 267 bored to take a 327 piston with a 283 crank 58cc 400 heads 498/501 lift cam Holley 600cfm carb, i mean besides it being a boat anchor what is so bad i have a 2.5 with a stock carb it cant be worse than that

Unless you know this guy to be honest, I would do some serious digging into this engine before you trust those specs.
I'm not saying it can't be done - I would question, why?
You have so many options for upgrades from a 2.5 that wouldn't require nearly as much work.

4.0 TB, Upgrade injectors, cold air intake, cat back exaust, etc. There are tons of upgrades you can make to your 2.5 to get more out of it. Just do some searching on the forum
