Most simple way to remove coil springs
x2 on the compressor if you want something quicker...i did a budget boost on mine and it was either the compressor or start to take off control arms which gets even more time consuming.
Here's a couple tips for useing the compressors..dont use them more then you have to. So when your wanting to compress them, jack the axle up on the side your using the compressors and so the other side drops down. So your "flexing" the axle. Compress it as much as you can, attach the compressor and compress a little more and then lower the axle SLOWLY! that should take alot of work out of the equation.
Just my two cents...

Whoever said spring compressor dangers are a rumor is full of BS.
It's not really the spring compressor that's dangerous. It's if the spring compressor comes off of a preloaded spring, and when that spring unloads, it will shoot out! My buddy did that and the spring missed him by about an inch and went through the sheetrock in his garage.

one way you can REDUCE this risk is by getting some small chain and wrapping it around (through the center and back up on the outside) the spring while it is compressed. That way if the coil does come undone it will snap around, but wont become a flying projectile...

I had one break once and the chunk that came off went flying and took the glasses off my face... it sucked cause it was a 2 month old pair of glasses that cost me almost $500

I Just put spacers in today. Took 2 hours to drop the lca, shock, upper control arm, sway arm, and unhook the brake line on one side. With a spring compressor I got from auto zone it took me half that time and all I did was drop the lca and sway bar link. Way easier with a spring compressor imo

drop the shock.. use spring compressors with the safty chains that come with them... or just use a chain and wrap around it bolt to frame so it cant come flying out..... yes 1/2 impact is the only way i go with spring compressors.
