hello i was thinking about a 383 stoker short block and wanted to no if its a good idea or is there a better motor to put in my 89 xj. thanks

Engine: 4.0 with all of the noise and clatter
If you have smog testing in your area forget about swapping in a 383 stroker unless it is a trial only rig. The cooling system will one of the biggest hurdles to deal with, it's barely adequate for the 4.0.
