Default Modified RC 4.5" leaf pack

My shackle angle is terrible to say the least, and my rear is very rough over bumps. I have 4 leaves In my RC 4.5" leaf pack. Would it hurt anything to remove one of the smaller leaves from each side? This would lower the high arch the springs have at the moment improving my shackle angle and ride quality. I'm throwing a 44 with antiwrap spring perches in about a month, to help with axle wrap. Other then an increased chance of wrap, are there any other downsides to this?

i wouldnt think so. that should work. If you really wanted better ride you could just get the rough country relocation brackets. but those a a hundred bucks. so maybe not:/. removing a leaf is free

Every leaf helps with spring rate. This is what gives you your ride height. All it is going to do is soften the springs and drop your right height. Also, because the spring rate drops, your leafs will be compressing more pushing the shackle farther to the rear.

When I put in the 44 the perches are raised 3/4" over stock to help with taking the spring out. I'll do it and see how it goes

instead of trying to reinvent the fricking heel just MAKE or purchase shackle relocation brackets...

you are basically saying... "I know milk goes well with cold cereal... BUT do you think I could use cheese in a can instead?"

what I am getting at is you are going to loose the ride height AND wear out your packs sooner...

but honestly what did you think a 4.5" leaf pack would ride like? look at the arch it has... it is going to ride like an old CJ in the rear... lol

for 4.5" I would recommend a 3" leaf pack and a 1.5" shackle with relocation brackets...

I made my brackets...

Do you have any more picture of your relocation boxes?
