Default Manual steering box

Does anyone know of a manual steering box I can swap into an XJ?
Making an Ice Racer and I'd like to remove as many things that can break down in a race as possible. Plus pick up a HP or two.

It should be a Saginaw box. If you can find one, an S-10 will work. Or else look at the aftermarket. You wouldn't believe the street rod parts that are on my Jeep.

Hey boys and girls... I know that this is an old topic, but I've just recently started a new project and this peaked my attention. If I'm understanding correctly, the manual steering gearbox from a Chevy S10 will bolt in to my 2000 XJ? I'm building mine for straight line (ie: drag) racing, with a small block Chevy V8. The set up I'm using doesn;t have a P/S pump, and I'd really like to go with the manual box. I have access to a box from a 91 S10, so this is very appealing to me! My questions are 1)is this a "verified" swap? I mean, is anyone here actually running this box conversion? and 2) if so, does the jeep steering coupler mate, or is there modifications or mismatched parts required? 3) Same question with reguards to the Pitman arm? Any insight would be appreciated...

1980's GM style Saginaw box. Just if I was you, I'd also buy a steering box brace and upgraded spacer to alleviate the stress on the uniframe.

I remember seeing this listed when I was looking at steering boxes, was this an option for manual steering from the factory?
