Default Quick Hello

Just want to say hello, and am glad to be a part of this forum. Just bought my first Jeep and looking forward to modding it! My apologies for posting the lift questions in general before reading the sticky. Once again, look forward to hearing advice from you folks.

Welcome to the forum. Try Rocky Road Suspension. They seem to be the most complete and come with important brackets for the brake proportioning valve (not included in others) its a 5 inch lift but will allow you to run 33x12.50s or 285/75R16s.

please dont use rockyroad. that is about the lowest quality lift you can get.

what kind of advice are you looking for? what will you use the truck for?

LMAO! I wouldn't go as far as to say "converted", however, I thought it would be fun to try out my ideas with this Jeep. The Blazer has Independent Suspension, so I thought I would have my hand at a straight axle suspension. Plus, it's a great little truck as far as mileage, and the shape it's in. Pics of my Blazer in my garage. I love that truck, $5000 later, I can say, I wouldn't trade that sucker for nothing!

Thanks very much. Without looking into it, I will say I am ready to drop about $1200-$1400 suspension mods. Hopefully it fits the price range. Thanks again.

How high are you planning? If you are going 5-6"+ The cheapest way to get that high in the rear is going spring over axle. Basically, you can get an XJ axle and swap it in. Or you can cut/weld spring perches OTA on your current rear axle.

can't bolt in an xj axle, springs are different widths apart.

i believe rubicon express has a kit that includes new spring perches and the whole front end kit, might wanna check them out.

Yes, I'm going to spring over the rear. Not sure about my options for the front. I've seen quite a few good things about Rubicon Express, will check them out as well... I'd like to get 6" out of it if I can.

I want the ability to go off road in most any situation, yet still maintain drivability.

The RE 5.5 coils should net about 6", if not, then you can add spacers/coil spring isolators to even out the front/rear. Serious has them for about 100$?

After doing some research, I believe that's what I'll be going with. I'll probably drop about $3000 into her come christmas. So does anyone know how I can find out my gear ratio on the rear? It's a 4.0 I6 manual

I'll have to double check that as mine does have a tow package. Funny, cuz I'm pretty sure my Blazer has a 3.73 rear.

Never been into blazers much but thats just me hope jeep live up to your expectations.

Edit: im pretty sure you have 3.07, looked at stock specs for only mj's and i didnt see anything on changed gearing for tow packages.
