Default Long arm questions

Whats up fellers
Been pondering the long arms Im going to build for the new jeep.
The goal for this jeep is hopefully going to be geared more towards off road racing.
Ive been considering to do a full 4 link front (not triangulated) just for the added connection so just in case a link breaks or something. Any real problems with this thats meant mostly for racing? Anyone have and real numbers of how much it might bind compared to a full 3 link and what kind of stress it puts on joints?

The other question is, is there any benefit to a longer upper arm? As in, if the upper mount on frame side is pushed back farther than the lower so you have maybe a couple of inches more of arm? Ive heard if you do this your pinion angle stays in a better position during travel and flex.

I saw this today. While I have no personal experience with Rusty's I know one member on here that always recommends them first. Anyways its a 4 link designed for racing but there site says some have set it up as a 3 link also.

That was the one thing that kept me from buying it, I too, looked at it a while back, it looks well built, but not having any feedback from users kept me looking. It was featured on an episode of extreme off road, IIRC.

It was an episode of Trucks! and they used those brackets with LAs on a Jeep Comanche. They have a beefy sandwich plate design.

Here's the links to the videos of those braces/plates on a 3 link and also their LA set up.

This is the kit that I plan on upgrading to, so far have had zero issues with any of my Rustys lifts or suspension items in over 4 yrs. now.

I have bought over 4.5k worth of items for my XJ from them. Quality has been top notch on all of them but I did buy top of the line products from him.

looking at the kit, his upper is shorter than the lower so I wonder if the length of the upper to the lower really has that much an effect
