Default Lockrite or Detroit in my D30?

I'm want your opinion on what locker I should put in my D30

I have both lockers sitting in my basement. What one would you use and why?

I do live in Alaska and I do use 4wd occasionally. I usually drive in 2wd and I have a factory TracLok LSD in my C8.25. I have researched non selectable lockers using 4wd. Are either of the 2 I have the lesser of the 2 evils?

I have 4.56 ready to install. I don't know what one is "better". I'd love to have an e-locker but that's not in my budget. The lockrite I have is already installed in a 3.73+ carrier

Detriot vs lockrite

So do you have a Detroit locker? Your poll says tru trac, which is a limited slip.

For on road use I would prefer the tru trac. It would handle most of my off road use as well. I have a lock rite in the rear. Better yet sell me whichever one you don't use.Oh and to answer your question the tru trac would be the much lesser of two evils in the front.

for performance I'd go with the lockrite. LS will give out right when you need it the most on the rocks. I've watched people take out their lunchbox locker and "upgrade" to a limited. then I watch them fail miserabley on the same obstacles they were walking all over the week before

If you're going to be cruising on ice in 4WD I'd definitely recommend an LSD up front

Yes, I will be. I live in Alaska. I usually drive in 2wd but in slick spots I do put it in 4wd

Ran both and hated both. Lockright never worked right, some like them I'm not one of them. Truetrac worked like an open carrier with my tire size. Sell them both and get a real Detroit or selectable locker and call it done.
