locking hubs do not make all the wheels drive at the same time they disengage the axles and ring and pinion so they are not turing when in 2wd?

Yea the kit (hubs only) are about $90-100 but you have to change the the old hubs and other parts for the hubs to work and that kit is around $600-800. You would be much better off grabbing a D44 with the Locking hubs and fitting in the XJ...Tj

I saw that episode they put that in so that in 2wd the front tires were spinning
independently not using the front axle it was to try to improve gas mileage

If I were to do a Free spin kit on a Dana 30 it would be the EMS Offroad kit.I don't like the looks of that Mile Marker kit ,they do make good stuff but the lockouts in there kit is there cheaper lockouts, and though I've never seen the kit in person it still seams to use some type of hub bearing.

worth it??? for a 1000 bucks i can think of much better things worth it to do to the jeep.... would it be nice? yes. I much prefer manual locking hubs. But, it iiisss nice not to have to jump in and out of your vehicle to engage/disengage the hubs....
