^ This X a Billion !

Throw in some Lunchbox's front and rear , and Keep you Spider gears in your tool box .

I've run 3 different Lunchbox lockers in different Jeeps

Lockrights ( JUNK pins sheared after a year or so )

Aussie, Pins are larger then the lockright uses 4 less springs but they are thicker Pretty decent I had no issues with it.

Spartan, My Favorite of the 3 it was the easiest to install (comes with wire to hold the pins and springs in for install made it a huge help, The pins are massive and springs sit under the pins I will be purchasing one for the front of my XJ and 2 for my YJ

I'm just getting everything together now well have most all now. I'm running 33x12:50x15's on my 99 and after running the numbers here I found that I needed a min of 4.56 and really 4.88. Mine is not a DD but you will find speed/RPM/Gear all shown for what ever you plug in. Also you can run 2 sets side by side to compare very nice to have here for us to use.

I can't remember who pointed me there but sure did me a favor. BTW I'm using Detroit Lockers front and rear now, that's a long story.
well I found my rear axle (ford 8.8) with 4.10s in it. Then I found some 4.10 gears for the dana 30 for $75.00. I am getting them installed for $100 bucks. So basiclly I was able to regear from 3.55 to 4.10 for $175.00. I know I need a 4.88 but Going that big will leave for a weaker ring and pinion. So the next best is a 4.54, but is it worth $1000 bucks to regear one size up? So Ill prolly deal with the 4.10s for a while.

No back to the lockers. I dont drive this thing much ts a weekend wheeler. I have owned it for 2 years and put 4000 miles on it. A selectable locker in the rear is out of my budget. Everybody had pretty much agreed that a LS is a waste of money.

So I guess my way to go is lunchbox lockers front and rear....

Driving with a lunch box isn't bad at all. When I was 19 I installed a lock right in my 2002 F150 with the 5 speed. I put 20000 miles on that truck over the 8 following months before I sold it. It would get a little herky-jerky turning but never was a problem if you accelerated through a corner or coasted through with the clutch disengaged.

My XJ has an Aussie in the rear. I've yet to notice anything, the auto does a great job with it. I'd drive the it every day.

Both ratchet occasionally. I never really could hear it in the pickup and I just don't notice it in the Cherokee.

I'm locked front and rear. Front is a lockright, rear is a spartan. I also daily my truck not too far but about 30 miles a day, I hear some clicking in the rear and occasionally it locks and chirps a tire but doesn't bother me at all. I wouldn't even consider a lsd opposed to locker for what I do. And selectables were not in my budget. Just grab some lunchboxs and toss em in.

I'm still running open up front on my Cherokee. Drive down snowy roads way to often for a lunchbox up front (makes me think of going Ford style and freewheeling hubs) but I'd rather put money elsewhere at the moment than on an selectable locker.
