I got a quick question. Did 98 Cherokees with 8.25 rear end come with posi lock or anything. I jacked up rear end I spin one tire they both move even if I have someone hold one side I haven't taking off diff cover yet cuz weather has been ****ty out. I was just wondering because I hope the previous owner( teenager) didn't weld the rear end.

 

There was a limited slip option, but if it ratchets or chirps tires turning it's locked or welded.

Well with any luck it wont be welded and just have some sort of after market locker in there !

 

Yes a limited slip was a factory option in the 8.25, my 97 country edition came with the limited slip 8.25.
