Lifting 89 Xj front leafspring nut broke loose

Default Lifting 89 Xj front leafspring nut broke loose

Hey guys Im putting my lift on and I started taking the front leaf spring bolt off and snap the welded nut on the inside of the box snapped loose, Ive heard of cutting the unibody but I dont know where and how big? Pics or just advice would be freakin awesome! Thanks Guys!

do not cut into the frame rail. You can measure and go in through the floor without having to cut the unibody rail.

Yes. Your going to want to go in from the floor rather than cut up your unibody. Been there done that. Just part of working with an xj. Lol

or cut a small opening just big enought for you wrench to go in right below where the nut is supposed to be welded. thats how i have mine done and havent had any problem with it done that way

I did that on my 95. It works. But now that I know better I'd rather just go in from the floor. Both will work, it's just a matter of opinion I guess. I'd rather fix a small spot in the floor then cut into the "frame"
