Default Lift settled out wierd

Hello everyone!

I have a 1997 XJ with a Rusty's Offroad lift kit. It seemed to be leaning weird so I measured the fender heights and coil lengths. My drivers side coil is 1.5 inches shorter than my passenger coil when compressed.... I have relocated my battery to the passenger compartment and deleted a lot in the engine bay but I can't see how that would effect a spring that much. Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

Assuming a coil spring rate of ~180 lbs you'd have to have moved 270 lbs out of the engine bay on the drivers side, or added 270 lbs on the passenger side, or a combination of both. While not impossible, that seems extremely unlikely.

Are you missing the coil spring isolator on the drivers side? Is it possible a previous owner doubled up on isolators on the passenger side? Just ruling out obvious stuff.

I'm thinking that Rusty's may have sent you one incorrect spring. Maybe a 3" coil instead of a 4.5".

^I agree double check your install for the isolators or on the seating on the spring.^

Its really interesting. I checked the lengths and part numbers before installing everything and found no discrepancies. The actual coil length is 1.5 inches shorter and isolators are just fine. The fender height is 2 inches off but that is really negligible. Could I have damaged something? I did the math and I figure I am only 30-50lb's over on the front end with everything I swapped and removed. The weight is pretty even too. Do they compensate for driver weight and maybe I just installed them backwards?

No they are the same weight on each spring or should be if your sure on your side of things call Rustys and tell them the problem your having.
