Default Lift question

This might be a dumb question but in the picture it says to cut the excess bolt off so it will move rearward but I don't see why I would Have to cut it. Is it necessary?

When flexing the shackle moves rearward, the more room the shackle has to move, the more it will allow your suspension to cycle.

You can always try flexing it out and see if the shackle contacts that bolt.

In my experience cutting/ grinding that bolt is really only necessary when adding extended shackles. but as mentioned above flex it out see if it hits. a sawzall with a metal cutting blade will make quick work of it. and it gives you a few less turns of a wrench when removing the bumper support.
