I am starting a new project for a 1997 Cherokee Sport that I took ownership of in Hawaii. It needs some work and investment which I am willing to do. You can see photos of it here:

I’m stuck trying to figure out the height for a replacement lift and suspension system. I’m not looking to do hardcore off-road driving. Light to moderate – I live on Oahu. But I like the height that it’s at now. I’ve spent hours poring over 4x4 sites and manufacturer websites.

The Jeep has the Chrysler 8.25 rear axle from what I can tell. I can’t do a full swap out at once and an am hoping to keep the current axels or swap out with the like if needed.

I’ve been eyeing the “Superlift 4 inch Master Lift Kit with Shocks” but am not set on it:

I can get it for about $900 now + $140 in shipping.

Am I going about this the right way in getting the Jeep up and running? I don’t have to worry about driving etc.., I just want to get it fixed up and then have fun in it. I drove it home (30min on paved road) but that’s it.

The rust sux on it but luckily we have good shops here to take care of that.

Thanks a bunch for any feedback suggestions etc!

P.S. I have read other threads pertaining to lifts, but still stuck.

Tim
