I've been looking at LED light bars for awhile, but have held off because they ALL seem to use either SMD or Cree LEDs that are in the 6000K color temp range. I have about 40 high-end LED flashlights that I've owned over the years, I have Cree bulbs in my household fixtures, and LED landscape lighting, so I know a bit about the technology. I'm a big fan of Cree's product line due to very high quality controls and it being and American-owned company.
I recently bought a Tuff LED 15" double row light bar to give it a shot.
The build quality seems great. The look of it is nice. It is bright, although I wish it had more throw than flood. And they have, hands down, one of the best adjustable mounting systems I've seen yet! Other companies should try to do something similar about that mounting method.

However, now that I have it on, I think it's a bit too big and I'm pretty sure I want to go with a single row unit and try to get it positioned in between the main bumper body and the push bar. The other problem I have is with the color temp. At 6000K it is just too far on the blue end of the spectrum. At night, green tree leaves appear to be a dark gray/blue color, and stops signs have a purple tinge. The CRI is terrible with all these 6000K units.
So far I've come up dry, but does anyone know if there are any companies that make warm/nuetral LED light bars in the 3800K -4500K range? I might even go to 5000K at the top end, but no higher. I know that SMD and Cree both make LEDs in the range, but most light bar makers don't use them because they cost a bit more. Cree has their XM-L T5 and T4 line in nuetral tints, as well as XP-G2 and XP-G R5 emiiters which are excellent.
If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

Thanks. I took a look at Baja. They have a variety in the 5000K range, but they sure are proud of them. I may have to pay that premium though, since it seems my options are limited. The raw LEDs used in the light bars don't cost that much. It is only about $1-$2 upcharge per LED if manufacturers of the light bars upgraded for production, so for a light bar with 10 LEDS I'd expect to pay a $1.50 - $2.75 premium per LED, or about $25-$30 more for the whole bar.

Cool white or 5k-8k are meant for smaller areas, I think the issue too is beam angle of these LED bars. Ive been down this road with my 210g aquarium and ended up having a custom built one to meet my specific needs for that application. I also install high end LED landscape lighting and even 300k is a noticeable difference. Id find a custom LED builder if I were you.
