I am not sure never researched it I just pulled mine before I bought them in order to make sure what I was getting was the right part. On the website it has a bulb matcher many are universal so don't be afraid of ordering something that has many applications!

Here's my cluster
Not a lot of people have the same setup as me. They're reverse glow gauge overlays that I got off ebay for around $40. They can change colors and are white faced during the day.

I just can't see this ever ending up on my list of "things to do to the XJ" but I did install some in my 240sx. I think I got them from the same site that is sponsored on CF (SuperbriteLEDS).

I recommend the ones with 5 LEDS point in opposing directions. It helps scatter the light better than a single LED.

Just checking to make sure I understand. The LED's simply plug in and no other mod is required?

That looks nice. Was it easy to install? Can you still dim the gauges?

yeah, there is usually 3 digit number that identifies the bulb/connector type. Then you just remove and replace.

Isn't there a tint on the gauge cluster? I thought the stock bulbs were clear and everything was tinted to get the color

Yes they are. The only thing is that the dimmer doesn't really function after you do this mod. Also, if you want to add the LED look to your HVAC, that takes a #74 or T5 bulb I believe.

I did this mod with white LED's from eBay, they show up a little blue because the gauge cluster is tinted, at least on older years (89 is mine)
